In October 2025, Innovit Electric partnered with Shanghai Triumph Energy Conservation Engineering Co., Ltd., to officially deliver essential power equipment for Kohat Cement’s 30MW Coal-Fired Power Plant (CFPP). The project is being executed by China National Building Material International Engineering Group Co., Ltd. This project marks a breakthrough moment for Innovit, accelerating our global growth and showcasing our engineering power on the international stage. This is more than just another delivery—it’s a strategic victory that proves our UFCL and smart monitoring solutions can handle real-world grid challenges in extreme conditions and further demonstrates our technical capability in solving complex power grid challenges.
The Kohat Cement Power Plant project, with its 30MW output, demands uncompromising power system reliability—and Innovit Electric has delivered exactly that. Innovit Electric has supplied 5 units of Ultra-Fast Current Limiter (UFCL) engineered with state-of-the-art fault protection technology and two transition panels. Once installed in the plant’s main distribution room, this protection system will dramatically reduce the impact of short-circuit currents, safeguard critical power equipment, and enhance overall grid stability.
The project is located in central Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, Pakistan, a region characterized by a harsh subtropical semi-arid climate with extreme summer temperatures and intense monsoon humidity from July to September. To ensure reliable performance in these demanding environmental conditions, Innovit Electric engineered a customized solution with enhanced insulation, superior thermal management, and high environmental resilience. Every component was rigorously optimized to prevent insulation degradation, avoid abnormal temperature rise, and maintain operational stability even under thermal stress—ensuring long-term durability and uninterrupted system reliability for the Kohat power facility.
Innovit’s advanced protection portfolio is built around its Ultra-Fast Current Limiter (UFCL) technology, which acts within milliseconds to limit short-circuit currents below the permissible levels—protecting switchgear and critical equipment from destructive electrodynamic and thermal stress.
Additionally, Innovit also provides intelligent Partial Discharge Monitoring Systems (PDMS) equipped with state-of-the-art UHF, acoustic, and HFCT sensors for continuous online insulation diagnostics. Together, these solutions deliver both fault prevention and real-time condition monitoring, ensuring higher system reliability, extended equipment life, and smarter grid protection.
About Kohat Cement Company Limited:
Kohat Cement Company Limited (KCCL), established in 1984 by the State Cement Corporation of Pakistan with a 1,000 TPD cement plant in Kohat, was privatized in 1992, incorporated as a public limited company. In recent years, the local cement industry has expanded in scale, gradually shifting to coal-fired production and building new cement production lines and backup power stations. Company has strategically invested in captive power generation to ensure reliable and cost-effective energy supply for its cement production operations, commissioning a 22.6 MW power plant in 2009 to support its expanded grey cement line and mitigate the impact of frequent electricity shortages in Pakistan.
