KAMPALA, Uganda – April 25, 2026 – Innovit Electric proudly announces the successful acceptance and commissioning of its 12kV 4000A Ultra-Fast Current Limiter at the Kingfisher Oilfield, marking a significant milestone in the company’s global energy portfolio. Delivered as part of the EPC3 surface engineering project, the equipment has passed all rigorous commissioning tests and is now fully operational.

As a flagship project under the Belt and Road Initiative, the Kingfisher Oilfield stands as Uganda’s first major commercial oil development and a cornerstone of China–Uganda energy cooperation. Jointly developed by CNPC, CNOOC, and the Government of Uganda, the project is designed to process 40,000 barrels of crude oil per day. Once fully operational, it is set to transform Uganda into a key crude oil producer in East Africa.

At the heart of this development, Innovit Electric’s ultra-fast current limiter plays a critical role in protecting the power infrastructure of the Central Processing Facility (CPF). Engineered with advanced fault current limiting technology, the system can suppress short-circuit currents within milliseconds—ensuring maximum operational safety, system stability, and asset protection.

This successful commissioning not only demonstrates Innovit Electric’s cutting-edge capabilities in short-circuit current limitation but also highlights its strength in executing high-value, technically demanding international projects. The deployment reinforces Innovit’s position as a trusted partner in delivering reliable power protection solutions for large-scale energy developments worldwide.

With this achievement, Innovit Electric continues to accelerate its global expansion—supporting the development of safer, smarter, and more resilient energy systems across emerging and established markets alike.
