May 22, 2026, the 12kV, 5000A fault current limiter supplied by Innovite Electric for CNOOC Huizhou 25-4 oil project successfully passed rigorous Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), witnessed by the customer representative and third-party inspection agency Det Norske Veritas (DNV).
Designed for demanding offshore applications, the project required a compact solution capable of carrying a continuous rated current of 5000A while meeting stringent short-circuit performance requirements. Through continuous innovation and engineering expertise, Innovit successfully delivered a reliable solution tailored to the challenging conditions of offshore platforms.
Huizhou 25-4 Oilfield Comprehensive Adjustment/Huizhou 19-6 Oilfield 5d Well Area Development and Huizhou Regional Power Generation project is located in the southern part of the Huizhou Depression, in the northern depression zone of the Pearl River Basin in the South China Sea, approximately 140km from the Shenzhen coastline. This project has overcome the challenges of high-temperature and high-pressure directional drilling at 5400m, single-tube dual-well, and offshore combined cycle power generation technologies.
The project will utilize the massive reserves of hundreds of millions of tons in the ultra-deep northern South China Sea, alleviating domestic crude oil supply pressure and reducing reliance on imports, serving as a benchmark for the development of offshore ultra-deep, low-permeability oilfields in China.
