by innovit / 2020-10-31 / Published in News

Innovit Electric officially announced that it will provide Petronas with partial discharge monitoring system for switchgear and dry-type transformer belonging to the MV Package of the Kawasari gas development project.

The winning bidder of MV Package is Schneider Electric. In the bidding stage, Innovit Electric’s advanced online monitoring solution won the approval of Schneider Electric and the owner, and stood out in the competition with other manufacturers. The monitoring system will be delivered to Petronas together with the main equipment after the installation and commissioning of the Schneider Electric Indonesia plant. The system will provide real-time partial discharge monitoring and achieve the best results for the unattended medium voltage power equipment of the offshore platform.

The Kasawri natural gas development project is located in the South China Sea, offshore Sarawak, Malaysia. The project was developed by the Petronas and the first batch of natural gas from the gas field is expected to be produced in 2020. It is estimated that the gas field has 3.2 trillion cubic feet of natural gas resources and is expected to produce 660 million standard cubic feet of natural gas and 3.5 million barrels of condensate per day.

Petronas is one of the world’s largest oil companies, ranking 186th on the Fortune 500. For more information about Petronas, please visit: www.petronas.com
